Hit one of my Las Colinas honey holes for big sunfish and decent bass, and frankly, when I got there was sorta disappointed. Water was chocolate milk color, and this is usually a crystal clear pond with a lot of hydrilla. Makes for big sunfish and even bigger bass. But I was there, so why not wet a line. Well sir, between 2 pm and 3:30, I caught probably fifty or so longear sunfish, green sunfish, hybrid greenies, black basss, two of them pretty decent, and even a bullhead! All on red/chartreuse tube jigs with an UNPAINTED jig head. Kept 20 or so nice greens and hybrid greenies, and two respectable black bass. Not bad for an hour and a half of fishing.  The greenies were bedding and the bass were cruising looking for easy meals of either the greenies or the eggs. Good Times! Rudy How are you working that jig? I got inspired by your post and tried to fish the same setup you described. So I went to a pond that's clear enough for me to see all the gills and bass hanging out. once I cast, the jig goes straight down. Not enough time for the fish to react to it. Then once it hits the bottom I get caught up in buncha debris. I gave up after a few casts cause I was obviously not doing something right. I was bank fishing and not vertical jigging btw.
