Down here at the family's lakehouse near Don's Port Marina until monday. Fished some today, threw Chatterbaits and shaky heads into the flooded brush with no luck, but I didn't have time to hit it very hard. Boats in the water in the boathouse so I can fish between the storms.
Water is stained at best today. Anyone know what the pattern is?

Fished bass champs last weekend....And.......Zeroed!!!! My best guess/advice is head to caney and fish some flooded willows. Try punching and throw some spinnerbaits outside the willows parallel with the bank. Just a guess? They release a ton of fish from log cabin. Cant go wrong IMO

Last week for numbers of small (non-keeper) fish, we were on the back sides of the flooded willows in Clear and Caney. Docks near those secondary points were productive as well.

i am a couple of miles south of you in a cove - been killing them with a 2 1/2 inch plastic shad, pearl with either a black or blue back - i add a medium size colorado spinner often as well - caught crappie on these rigs as well - i change weight depending on the wind - all i have caught have been within 10 feet of shore - rain in last 24 hours hasnt exactly helped though - hope this helps

Rocks around enchanted Island were good for me on Saturday. Had to fish inside cove because of the wind. Dropshotted Roboworm Alive shad in Baby Bluegill. Also roboworm curly tail in purple smoke.

The last time I fished those rocks it was impossible to keep the hybrid off of my hook. They were really wanting to take a boat ride. Of course that means that there was a lot of bait in the area, so the bass will follow. If I were going tomorrow, that is one of the areas that I would hit for sure.

This is just me and I am no CC expert but this worked last time I was tehre then the following week in Champs. Go back in th dirtier water and focus on isolated super shallow cover in the backs of pockets, coves and canals. Wood cover was best and the fish were holding super shallow.I am talking laydowns etc and not bushes. They were in the more stained water VERY tight to cover for some reason. I am talking almost as far back as you can get. We had a great practice and it made a Top 11 check in Champs.

Thanks for the tips so far. Do y"all lunch from the free county ramp?? Or is there a better place to launch from? I will most likely be going solo.

This is an old pic. Water is now up to rocks. 3-5 ft deep. Some good pockets in this area as well with flooded bushes which should be good as stated above, and the road bed in top right is a good summer time c-rig spot. Good luck!
