I would be grateful if anyone wanted to share some helpful tips on how to find the crappie and get them to bit with all of this water we have. I have never had an issue catching crappie before. If I put 4-5 keepers in my boat its a success these days. I've tried shallow and deep structure, live minnows and every size and color jig there is with not very much luck at all. I am fishing Wright Patman in Texarkana if that helps. Thanks for any help. confused hmmm

I have not been on Patman in a few weeks, would think both White Oak and Sulphur both doing well. The best way in warm weather to find crappie or refind them is the shad. Minnow, shad and sun fish are all spawning now. Their young go to the grass as soon as they can so the crappie will be ever where looking. So I would work the grass lines first and then the cover near by next.

Maybe this will give you a better idea of how much the crappie are scattered right now in most lakes. A fishing buddy caught his crappie in 5' water today and I caught mine in 25' water about 16-18' deep. Like has been said till the water settles, the crappie are every where.

Fish are really scattered in most lakes with all the excess water. Best suggestion I can give you is to find a lake in your area with the most stable water level. In NE Texas right now, I'd say Fork, Twok, or CC. Then hit the brush piles in 10-20' of water. Be patient. The hard hitting late spring thump isn't what it usually is this time of year. Good luck!

With Patman up almost 10 feet I can imagine it is difficult.

Bad sign when you have to launch your 2-man boat in the middle of the street....that was Lewisville Saturday.
