I have had my Ulterra out two times and I must say I love it. You have to understand I am a bit prejudice because I am a hybrid when it comes to moving around, one good leg and one artificial C Leg. So the Ulterra is a game changer for me. So far the unit works perfect. I have the 36 volt, 112, 60" with ILink. About mounting the unit, because I travel with my boat some I needed a slide bracket. My slide max was good for my Terrova, but the Ulterra is a bit heavier. I use a skeeter mount, bought from R&R design in Terrell. With all of the weight out front and torque applied during ops it is important to have a good solid mount. The unit deploys and stows perfect so far. The trim works great as well. Today it was windy so it was nice to just hit a button on the remote and trim the unit down to get a better bite. I still have work to do like cleaning up my wiring and create a good strain relief for the cords.

Today I worked the Ulterra ILink with the Onix, it worked great. With the trolling motor deployed I just tapped a contour on the screen and tapped go to and I had a couple of options. I choose follow the contour, it asked which direction and one tap later the Ulterra went into action. For me there is no comparison between my old 1198 and the Onix. Most operations were one level down. For me the Onix is very intuitive.

That is great Blue. I know your situation and that unit is perfect for you. I have to admit, I am jealous. I need to see that thing in action.

Same thinking as Gene here. Glad to hear ya like it, Blue! Did ya play Barry White music while watching big unit deploy and stow? Oh Yeah!

I also installed an Eliminator for the prop. It helps minimize the damage when I wrap fishing line around the prop, it cuts down on vibration and serves as a heat sink. Also if you have to get the prop off it doesn't take any tools.
