Had a great trip to Plano pond yesterday morning with Nathan and Kris. Wind was a bit high but the fish were biting! Ended up catching 11 total and had three break off, one right at the boat. Probably the best day I've had in the kayak, both numbers and size. Every fish caught out there were very chunky. Even more importantly Kris, bankbassin slimed up his kayak for the first time! Thanks Nathan for meeting us out there, had a blast!

This one had lived a rough life, one eye, battle scars over over the place. All that but she still had a big belly on her. Also the biggest fish. Didn't have my scale or hawg trough with me but she was close to if not a little over five pounds by my estimate.

Awesome! I keep thinking I'll check that place out but forget about it every time, lol! It's ten minutes away.

That's the first time I've put the kayak in there myself. It's probably 12 minutes from me as well. Made me think I might be over looking some good fisheries more close to home.

Great report, that one needs a pirate patch! I am not familiar with this pond. What park in Plano is this located in?

Nice fish you caught there. I was in the red Pescador and was looking for bedding Blue Gill when I hooked into a nice bass on the 2 weight fly rod (video in the fly fishing section) Judging by your success and the lack of Blue Gill I should have switched to bass mode. Thanks for the report.

I noticed you had a gropro on. Nice video and awesome job landing that one on the 2 wt! There's some good bass in there for sure.

This was the only picture of fish that I got of Rob kicking my butt that day. He found a color pattern that was working and between the 2 of us, we nailed down the pattern and started catching more. I lost one right at the side of my yak and another one later in the day that was really nice. Broke me off on a tree. Oh well... I'll be back to try and catch them again.

They were all really healthy. This one was a bit glutenous lol

Smallest of all the fish I caught today.

In the end, I had a great time with Rob and Nathan. I couldn't have asked for a better day on the water. Turned out that I finally slimed my yak, and had a blast doing it. Thanks again Rob for the invite and for giving me a few of your plastics to help me out.

Nice fish Bankbassin, good to slime the yak, what color was the lure you were using with success? Maybe I can apply it to a fly I can tie.

Yes you can, but be careful where you park. There's only certain places that you can park without being towed.

So far this was the best day I had out on my kayak. Totally worth getting only about 5 hours of sleep for. I'd do it again in a heart beat.
