My dad has some rods that have the black foam grips that have really slicked down. They are tough for him to grip. Before we try something I wanted to ask what you have done. Aftermarket rod wrap...tape.......pine tar haha???

Try washing them first with a mild soap and water.

Could rough them up with some heavy grit sandpaper too if washing them doesn't fix the problem.

I've done both of those, they return to their previous issue after a couple of uses

I grove mine when I build the rod. And on my Revos that have the foam grips I use a razor to cut groves. Might try grooving one of the rods

These work great, they heat shrink right over the EVA or Cork.

Take light sandpaper and sand them. They will be like new. That is how you shape EVA grips when building rods.

We can put cork on it if you would like or we can put heat shrink on it in any 3 colors.

Lol pine tar. . .I have a few old rods I like that I've had to tape up. I just went and fished out some old hockey stick tape out of my hockey bag and used it. It works great, lightweight, water resistant, and easy to grip. And you can get it in any color on earth.

Get some of these and put on them. They shrink wrap on with a heat gun. I put them over my cork handles. Good grip also. Different colors also.
