I am going to be working in Georgia for the summer and was wondering if any of yall could provide some information on the fly fishing in the northern part of Georgia. I have done a little research but I still would like to find some good info on where to go, what gear, and what patterns for the summer months. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just moved back from living in ga for 6 months. Where will you be living?

I wasn't there over the summer but there was some fantastic fishing while I was there. If you want big fish there are some really great private places with monsters. Potentially some good dry fly action on them over the summer.

A lot of the good rivers I fished were stocked over the winter and no one can keep the fish until sometime in May I think. So over the summer these rivers won't be as good once people can keep the trout.

The small mountain streams can still be great for little native Brookies and wild rainbows.

Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to pm me. I had a blast.

And most importantly go to Unicoi outfitters in Helen, ga. The owner is one of the nicest guys I have ever met and made my time there very special. Great shop as well and they do guide trips if you want to do that. They have private water behind the shop on the Chattahoochee that I caught a number of very big trout during my time there.
