I throw them a lot. Will go a few trips without a bite, then catch a couple the next trip. If you like catching, this isn't the bait to throw. If you have patience and are satisfied without catching fish or even getting bites each trip, give it a try. When you catch one on a big bait, the wait is usually worth it.

I throw them a lot as well. MikeSouza hit the nail on the head. If you like catching fish every trip this might not be the best thing to be throwing. It takes a lot of patience/discipline to throw big baits all day with no success. It usually just takes that one big fish on a big bait to make it worth while. Fishing big baits has made me a better conventional angler as well.

My brother and I went out with Fork guide Lee Livesay, 903-812-2069, we had never thrown big swimbaits. He told us if we would hang with him on them it would pay off. Well 2nd cast of the day was all the hanging we needed. We had 15 fish 5 - 10 pounds. This picture is of 2 fish we caught at same time. Mine around 8 my brothers 10. Lee grabbed my and slide to other side and lipped my brothers. Around 18 pounds of bass in ours hands, WOW. After lunch he asked if we wanted to try something different and we both said no way.

As with all baits Lee said there was a right time to use them. If you haven't used them get with Lee and find out what you have been missing.

This is Lee so you know who to look for.

Yes..I have been having success with the line through Savage gear HD Trout...it has a great hook placement on the top of the bait and it works well. You will do a double take when you see this bait in the water...wow!
