My son and I went out to Rochelle's Saturday morning for a quick trip. Thought I would share a write up I did on a blog that I recently started for my son and others. If you are interested in reading the report, please check out https://bassknucklesfishing.wordpress.co...-brazos-river/.

Hope you enjoy the pictures, they are better than the fishing this trip, lol.

That is a nice little trip to take. I have taken it several time putting in at Rochelle's, paddling upstream a few miles and returning to Rochelle's. Thanks for the blog and pictures.

Thanks guys for the comments. Given that we started really focusing on bass fishing last spring; it's been a learning curve for both of us....then you add kayaking to it, we are certainly going to school. The best part is that my son and I get to experience it together, the good and bad days. Once rec and all star baseball is over (July 19th), expect many more reports from us! Right now our trips are quick and short, given the break up of the weekends due to games and church activities. We are really looking forward to some over night fishing trips once our baseball playing / coaching commitments are through this summer(really want to do the 20 mile trek for PK dam to Rochelle's). Looks like we finally have some water in north Texas to do these kinds of trips too!!

Thanks again guys.

That is an awesome trip. Some years ago we went all the way to 16.

Ahh the memories, when baseball ruled half the Summer. No mas - back to valuable father/son time in the outdoors as opposed to roasting in 110F heat on a baseball field in Weatherford or Burleson thru mid-July. I feel for ya. Thx for sharing the nice article. You should read Goodbye to a River before you do the trip from PK to Rochelles.

Catfish676, I have thought about writing a blog post called "Baseball Players Don't Fish", for the exact reason, lol. I asked my son several times, are you really really sure you want to play All Stars this summer....you know we aren't going to get to fish or camp? smile Still making memories, just not on the water.

Agreed. Been in same spot. No more all stars / select for us. Potentially last game in majors tonight in fact - if they lose that is. My kids would rather be out fishing or hunting than playing a video game. I think thats good stuff.
