Where should my seat be positioned for casual paddling, meaning I only carry a bottle of water, maybe a small cooler and a fishing rod.
I have the three way seat.

thats all a matter of comfort. Unless really high winds I stay in the high position.

Sorry, I should have been more specific in my post. I meant forward or rear position.

i like to have mine pretty forward while im paddling so the nose isnt raised out of the water and can really dig in. I then prefer it scooted back when fishing. again personal preference

When fishing my tackle is behind me (I'm always fishing) and usually I scoot forward to trim it out and run flat, because I carry everything behind the seat. When doing overnighters and longer trips I have more gear in the bow compartment and scoot my seat back to trim it out. It helps to have someone look at your boat from the side while you paddle and they can tell you if it looks like the bow is up and skimming or digging in to the water.
