 Minn Kota Talon Mount Question

Hi guys, just purchased a 8' Talon, and was curious to see what your thoughts were on the install. Would it be wise to mount it to the transom directly? The boat is a '99 Cobra 190s in mint condition. The other option would be to buy the sandwich style bracket as my jack plate doesn't have the bolt holes on the side. Just wondering if the $300 bracket is worth it or not. Thanks

brackets are a good idea drilling more holes in a 15 yr old boat not so much.

sandwich bracket!!!
btw. I am coming out with a new bolt kit designed for sandwich mounting talon/power pole brackets.
should have them available in a week or so.
