Finally got the new-to-me boat out for a crappie run. Decided to give CC a shot. Bite was a little slow for me today, but I picked my way to a limit. Got on the water just after 7 and left at 4. Spent a lot more time marking new spots than fishing. Most spots I picked up a fish or two and moved on. Caught 8 good fish off one pile. Stayed on south end of lake, mainly out on the main lake. Creeks were muddy, so I didn't even try the bridges. Most we're caught in 12-18' of water and a few on docks (6-10'). Silver/blue/grey colored1/8oz jigs seemed to do best. Used an electric chicken SK shad pole on 1/16oz up painted sickle hook jig head for docks. Boat did well and was a pleasant upgrade when the wind got up mid day. wink

Sounds like a great innaugural run... thumb

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
