What lake within an hour to hour and a half of Ellis county is best for catching numbers.

Well I gotta say in my little experience one decent numbers lake is right in your backyard...Lake Clark. Other than that I would have to say Athens.

I was out at clark last Saturday and caught some fish. Went again today and got skunked. First time getting skunked at clark. It is full of grass over almost the entire lake. Plenty of cover. Caught them on a chatterbait, t-rig senko, both in black/blue and also had what looked like a 6+ pounder break me off on a spook.. I only say that because after I broke off he jumped about a foot out of the water with my Zara spook still in his mouth!
