Rain finally stopped about 12:30 yesterday and Sherri and I headed for Lake Waco. Got to the first spot about 2. Bite was steady but you had to finesse 'em. Slab Bandit in chart/gold flake was what they were after. Tried several colors but Sherri kept pulling fish in on that Slab Bandit so I decided, can't beat 'em join 'em. Jig had to be moving slowly down or up. Most bites came as jig was very slowly lowered to the fish. Fished BPs 11-23 ft. Fish holding on top of deeper piles. Had a 1.52 & 1.38 and several more 1-1.15. Kept 20 for the grease and quit counting throwbacks at 30. Way too many dinks. A few females with small egg sacks. Lake up about 2 ft but water clarity is good on the main lake.
