Well on the way back I hit a submerged limb or something. I'm surprised the motor didn't go flying. Now the motor won't stay running. I figured I'd take the carb apart and check the float and jet and they are functioning properly. I took out the spark plug and it looks good.the cylinder walls lol good with no scratches. It revs high then dies like it's a fuel problem. Sucks anyone have any ideas? Yea it's Time to buy a fish finder with side scan so i can avoid this next time.

Side note what's the total price for a tohatsu 2.5?

Well the flywheel and pin are all in tact. I bet it's something simple. I just seems fuel or ignition related

I took the carb off again and blew out the jet and inlet where the needle sits and it runs, but it did the same last time. I'll wait until the water settles down a bit from the flooding and give it a shot.

I even took off the gas cap. Didn't help. I believe i figured it out. Not sure. I took the fuel bowl off and blew out the passages. That seemed to do it. I left it idling at half throttle yesterday and it was still running 10 mins later. Tomorrow's the test run if the river isn't flowing like crazy and rain hold out lol.

Sounds like maybe something is bent in the lower unit.

Put the plug in.
