Or whatever you guys need to get rained on to get some water into Choke Canyon? There is a pretty intense looking thunderstorm that looks like it is just sitting in place and pulsing due west of the lake. I'm hoping you are getting a flood.

Yep that storm around Uvalde is probably in the shed. But it needs to train like it is for hours. It takes a flash flood to get water into the system and down to the lake.

You sure? Usgs doesn't show much water in the nueces above Tilden.

The heaviest totals are Northwest of LaPryor. That whole area got a good soaking. The 10-11" came west of Uvalde though

I'm beginning to think there's not much hope for Choke gaining significant water. There was a flash flood warning in and around Tilden last night and another one a night or two before that. Then there was the torrential rain farther upstream last night. Still the lake only comes up 4-5 inches in a week...

The NWS reported 2-3 inches of rain had already fallen in the warned area last night and the storm was still sitting in place. If nothing else if it rains 3 inches on top of a lake twice in two days it ought to come up 6 inches without a bit of runoff.

It takes a long time for the rain that ends up in Choke Canyon to make it there. Its not an overnight thing. The rain from last night is a hundred miles or more away.

Jaret, it looks like the heaviest part will end up in the Nueces, but a good part of the storm was also far enough North to end up in the Frio and Dry Frio.

It will get a bump from this slow moving storm. It basically came right down the frio

I hope the heavy rain from the Uvalde area makes it into the lake, but the flash floods in the Tilden area the last couple of nights weren't a hundred miles away.

We'll see. I know it's a big lake and will take a while to come up much even with a lot of rain.

Razor, the Frio at Tilden has been running between 1,000 and 2,000 cfs since those rains. Even from Tilden it takes a little bit to get to the lake. The good news is that it is raining heavily there as we speak.

Lets just hope we can get enough to flood some brush.

That storm coming toward the lake from Cotulla looks like a frog strangler, and it's not moving very fast. I'm hoping for y'all.

There is a lot of brush growing up in the river that the water has to fight to get through, gonna be a slow rise for sure. I was originally thinking maybe 1' rise but now I'm thinking about 5'. (Maybe wishful thinking, lol).
