This forecast is incredible, and one I have not seen since about 8 or 9 years ago when it seemed to rain every day in May. Unbelievable. But my question pertains to Tawakoni. I have been monitoring lake levels in the DFW/ETEX area as I am sure most have, and I am curious why Tawakoni's rise is so much slower than others in the area. Does it have a much smaller water shed and fewer large feeder creeks? Thanks

I've been wondering the same thing. They can't pump any more water out of Tawakoni because as far as I know every lake they could pump it to is full or flooded.

I believe they are trying to hold the level somewhat constant for the bridge construction.

This is not true. I just got off the phone with the Sabine River authority . There is know flood gates on Tawakoni . The lake has a small watershed and has just not caught the rain.
