If somebody would have told me 8 weeks ago we now be saying ---PLEASE no more rain. LOL

But, since I caught a 6 lber. last night standing on my dock and casting to where 3 days ago was dry dirt, I'm not complaining--YET!

Unfortunately it looks like neither Hubbard Creek nor Ivie caught enough rain for long enough to make a real dent in their low levels. There is another line of really strong looking thunderstorms moving toward San Angelo and points east but they will probably move through too quickly to make a whole lot of difference, too.

I'm still hoping, though.

Yes we need the San Angelo area to get in on the action the rest of the state is receiving. Alan Henry now full, Arrowhead from 19% full to almost 50% full, Bridgeport from 38% to 58% full, Eagle Mountain now full, Fork full, Grapevine full, Lewisville full, JB Thomas from basically dry to 73% full, Kickapoo from 28% to 63% full, Lavon now full, Leon full, Millers Creek from 7% to 78% full, Nocona full, PK up to 80% now.

Love to see Ivie, Hubbard Creek, Spence, Oak Creek get in on the action as well. But there is hope......some good rain chances in the area for the next several days. I will continue to do my rain dances.

Is the gauge at Tawakoni broken? It has read 433.89 according to the USGS site for two days now. I find it hard to believe they could keep the lake at that constant a level considering the amount of water coming in from previous rains and the fact that it is pouring there right now.

Tawakoni's watershed isn't directly in line with the Trinity River Basin. The main tributary is Cow Leech Fork of the Sabine River. That area has received a lot of rain in the past few weeks but not enough to fill it up. Many of the large storms have skirted the lake. If we get what they claim is coming T-wok will be full soon.

As still a fairly new Texan and not knowing change could happen this fast I almost made a bone head mistake.

I think it was around Feb I started telling the wife I think I am going to sell my boat. The Lake is only going to get worse I told her. I just don't like spending hours driving to and from various lakes. I could get a sweet kayak and still fish some good areas on EM plus pocket some cash.

Boy am I glad I did not pull the trigger. Still might get the kayak. Might help when all the ramps are closed Lol......

Just proof that when God decides it will rain then it will rain. I think the biggest issue in so many lakes being sucked dry was lack of rain. I know the population has grown tremendously but we need replenishing rains to keep us at a decent level. We simply did not get that the last few years.

We are heading into summer in much better shape than any of us could have imagine at the start of the year.

Ray Hubbard has not jumped up a ton either. I honestly think those two lakes have not got quite the rain other lakes nearby have.

I know some of the storms have missed hitting Tawakoni directly, but my question has to do with the fact that the reading has been exactly 433.89 for almost two days straight.
