Do you usually make the sliding fluke the longest leader or the one on the main line the longest leader, or does it matter. I have seen it rigged both ways.

Main line swivel is the longer leader for me! Don't know if either way is better but I've never had any problems this way so why change ya know!

Both methods work well, and I haven't noticed a significant difference in catching frequency either way. I get more tangles with the sliding swivel line being longer, but you get a wider glide on twitches. Longer main line/shorter sliding swivel line gets less tangles and is easier to manage and cast.

I have always heard to make the sliding one the short one but I watched a youtube video on rigging it by Mark Menendez and he makes the sliding one the longer one.

KVD makes the shorter one the slider.
