As you all know, the weather has caused some real issues the last few days and last night an EF3 tornado devastated the city of Van. Many people there are living in shelters and have lost everything. Tommy Climer is going to be taking donations of non perishable goods down to Van on Friday. He and the RHBC need children's and women�s and men's clothes and blankets, towels and wash cloths. We need water and Gatorade. We need canned food. Fans are needed along with all kinds of assorted toiletries, including soap, shampoo, tooth brushes and tooth paste, deodorant, band aids and other first aid products. Think of something you need for your daily routine and bring it. We will be holding a collection Thursday night at Bass Pro Shops in Garland. We will be on the outside edge of the parking lot closest to What-A-Burger starting at 6:30 and will be there until 7:30 or 8:00. Please bring what you can and help your fellow Texans in their time of greatest need. A huge thank you to Tommy Climer for coming up with the idea and leading the charge on this very worthy cause. For those who don't have time to go to the store, cash or a check is always a great help, especially for those who didn't have insurance. Place either one in an envelope and bring it out tomorrow night. Checks should be made out to Van Community Ministers Tornado Relief Fund. Yes the THSBA high school fishing league has state this weekend with over 150 boats and everyone is donating hopefully...they sent out emails and everyone is responding that they will be donating this weekend.

A huge thank you to J.P. Greeson, Texas Fishing Forum members and members of the Ray Hubbard Bass Club. As you all know, we held a donation drive tonight to help the victims of the tornado in Van TX last Sunday. Quite a few TFF members and 48 members of the RHBC came out tonight and we raised $4510.00 in cash and checks and filled an enclosed trailer all the way up with donations of clothes, toiletries, baby food and other essential items. One of the things that has impressed me most about the people of Texas is how they rally together to help each other in times of great need. Tonight was one of those nights. RHBC, as always you are ready to step up and do what needs to be done. I am proud to be a member. The heart and soul of this effort was Tommy Climer. You all know him as one of the best tournament fisherman in the Metroplex, but this man is all heart. He has always been ready to help anyone no matter what and he brought this idea to us and led the charge. Tommy will be delivering the collected items and money to Van personally tomorrow morning. Thank you for getting us all involved in this noble cause. I am proud to call you my friend.

Thank you guys so much. Myself and Mr Climer have been talking a bit through this process and I told him last night that you guys have made me very proud to be a Texan and fisherman.
