Looks like it missed out again. Sure would be nice to catch some water that actually matters.

I really don't understand how Mathis is almost full and Choke is going down. I think the City of Corpus is sucking every drop that goes in out as soon as it makes it there. I could be wrong but there has been plenty of rain in the right places and yet Choke is losing water instead of gaining it???

Most of the good rain has not fallen in the Frio River water shed, is why Choke has not come up much in the past. The Nueces River and Atascosa River is where the rain has been in the past to make Lake corpus Christi come up. I would love to see Lake Corpus Christi full also it's a good fishing lake when it's full .

The NWS is still calling for the possibility of heavy rain around Choke Canyon tonight and tomorrow. I hope you get enough to make a difference.

Would love to see Choke full pool and full of grass again, those were the days!

I won our last two club tournaments on Choke, that was years ago. Hope it comes up.

This ought to cause it to rise some:

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CORPUS CHRISTI HAS ISSUED A

* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
WESTERN LIVE OAK COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS...

* UNTIL 215 PM CDT

* AT 1109 AM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO
THUNDERSTORMS. ONE-HALF TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN
ACROSS WESTERN LIVE OAK COUNTY. AN ADDITIONAL ONE-HALF TO TWO
INCHES OF RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE. THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL
STREAM FLOODING IN THE ADVISORY AREA.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
GEORGE WEST...THREE RIVERS...CHOKE CANYON...CLEGG...SIMMONS AND
WHITSETT.

The headwaters of the Frio River and the mouth of Choke Canyon is currently getting hammered by hard rain! It will be great to see water actually flowing into the lake!

Every bit helps, but it's probably going to take 15 to 20 inch of rain at one time on the Frio to do anything drastic to the water level of Choke.

Four lakes that are going to need a hurricane to make a difference. Lake Buchanan,Lake Travis,Medina Lake, and Choke Canyon. taz

Side Note: Love both the wet winter and spring. A lot of water bodies got some super help! thumb

That's about right. I'm not sure where the water in the Frio is going but it's not making it to Choke. We'll be lucky if the lake goes up a few inches this week.

I'm not sure how a flash flood warning all around the lake translates to basically not rising at all, but I feel for you. Today looked like your big chance.

There is a shitload of water in the dry frio, heading down to the frio. We'll see how much makes it to choke. If we are lucky, maybe the ground is saturated enough to let it run on down.
