I'm planning to take out my four nephews out this weekend for some fishing around the Garland areas that we can catch some abundant of bluegills or catfish. They are begging me to take them for weeks now and this is their first time fishing so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Where about in Garland?.. near Jupiter and Campbell there is small pond with plenty of gills, Look up Crowley Park. Also a park close to 30 and Broadway, Murphy area if in Firewheel.. just depends where you are.

that pond in actually off lookout between Jupiter and GWB toll service road; Crowley Park is the name and it is pretty small but has some good gills and about 5 to 6 large LMB. If you are in Sachse, Id try either Crowley Park or Murphy city hall pond, maybe even Breckenridge Park over off Renner and Brand rd. I have kids and I take them to Crowley because it has a nice fishing dock and a playground right next to the pond. I know you got bacon in your house, what i do for my kids is put a piece of fat from a slice of raw bacon and let it dry on a small hook and then use that for bait; stole that from Tarpnfly's post and it works great cause you rarely need to re-bait.

Went to Bethany Park at noon on Saturday and all my nephews caught bluegills, catfish and one large mouth bass. They had a good time and can't wait to go out again and thanks all for your advise.
