Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it??

A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work.

Check your wire that hooks in to the speed dial and see if they're loose and if not I'd say take it to Boris trolling motor repair in azle. He's really good at what he does and not expensive.

Kevin, you don't say which trolling motor you have Motorguide / MinnKota. Each is unique as to possible causes. It could be either a switch or a speed coil. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks! It's a Motor Guide. I believe my buddy was able to fix it thanks to the forum! Thanks for your response.
