As of yesterday it was over pool and the boat ramp and day use area was closed. You can launch on the west side of the damn, the water is very stained north of mid lake or before.

Thanks for the info! May wait a week! The state Park is the only place I've ever launched!

Thanks for the info! May wait a week! The state Park is the only place I've ever launched! You will still be in the state park, the entire lake is state park. The launch on the west side of the damn is a easy launch. You can also call the Rangers at the office for a update.

I am headed to Purtis for the weekend. We won't get there until late tonight but we are staying through Sunday. Has the water settled down any from earlier in the week? How has the fishing been this year?
Also, I talked to a guy who says they have removed some of the carp. Is there any grass coming back?

No Grass, and still to many Grass Carp. So far I've not talked to anyone that has been catching this year, but that can change at anytime.

The Wife and I went Sunday and it was tuff! The grass and adrilla is gone lol ! Water was a goldish color and 78 to 80 deg. The Wife caught one 2 to 2 1/2 lb and me skunked. I hade mostly light colored plastics and you need dark like red shad. Good structure and Depth in the lake! The day before a person told me there was a 10 and two 8s caught off of a white hollow frog!

I heard from another friend that was out there. He caught his first frog bass there this weekend and said he missed several blow ups. I've got to dust off the frogs. Thanks for the report!
