Hey y'all I'm new to catfishing and want to try my hand. I'll be fishing out at PK all weekend. ANy tips for me. Planning on running trotlines or jug lines. Which do you prefer. I am totally ignorant about catfishing. How should I set up my lines? Any other ways besides jug lines? WHat should I use for bait? WHere should I fish? I'm a rookie and just want some advice. If you're familiar with the lake please give me some tips. Feel free to private message me. Thanks and God Bless

My personal preference is rod & reel. But, of the two methods you mentioned, I think juglines would be easier to manage for a new catfisherman. Trotlines can become troublesome if you're not used to running them.

Fish for catfish where the mouth of the Brazos river runs into PK. Rock Creek will enter PK at same place. This area is the best catfishing the lake has to offer. Best to use fresh cut shad. XXL minows, cut carp or cut buffalo work well, cut peach will catch a few also. All I fish with is shad, buffalo and carp and occasional pearch. Good Luck to you!
