Me and the wife headed into Terrell on our Home Depot run to eat lunch yesterday. I had made the comment that I was really in the mood for some good fish. Not fried catfish but some actual good seafood but that Terrell probably wasn't the place for it. As we started down the street we noticed an old brick building and on the side of it was Seafood & Steakhouse. We pulled in. From outside looking in I could tell it was a pretty fancy place. Come to find out it has only been opened for 2 to 3 months and is called El Cantante Cuisine Seafood and Steakhouse at 501 E. Moore. We got the menu and just looking at it we thought we might have found something. We were right. We had a shrimp cocktail to start off. It only had 5 shrimp on it but let me tell you they were huge and ended up being the freshest best tasting shrimp I have had since the last time I was at the coast and it was plenty for the two of us. I ordered Grilled Red fish which came with more shrimp, muscles and sliced scallops in their special sauce laying on a bed of creamy mash potatoes that were out of this world. Great rolls with whipped butter. My wife ordered Jalepeno Smoked Sausage Pasta.
This food was very impressive and now we cannot wait to go try some of their other dishes. She is wanting to try their Shrimp Scampy next time and I am drooling over trying their Peppercorn Steak.
We got out of there on a $ 50.00 check which is what we pay sometimes at other restaurants but this place left us feeling like we got a really great deal considering the food and service we definitely did not expect on our drive into Terrell. There was only one other patron in the place the whole time we were there and we are planning other trips soon because as soon as this place is found out I can only imagine how crowded it will be.
Not a whole lot of places that I cannot truly wait to go back but this is definitely one.

I live near Terrell and wife and I have eaten there 3-4 times. Always excellent, though a bit pricey for Terrell. We've had the steaks, some of the seafood, and a few pasta dishes. Try the fettucinni alfredo; best I've ever had, including some I had in Italy!

I will tell my wife, I am sure she would love the Fettucinni Alfredo. I am going for a steak. It is a bit pricey but to get that type of food and make a nice little drive into Terrell and not fight traffic and crowds in Dallas is worth it.
Thanks
