Put a Keel Guard on my boat year and half ago. Not been in the water since installed. Due to time and heat while in storage it has started to come loose from the hull. Any suggestion on adhesive to reattach it?

You could try 3M 5200 but it will eventually come loose again. Make sure you clean the surface good, scuff it with a Scotchbrite pad and then alcohol wipe down. Spread the 3M on as evenly as possible. Then you have to put the keel guard on and put pressure on it all across the material. Then it takes a full day to cure.

They have a lifetime warranty. Its a pain to take the old one off but take pics and you can get a new one.

I rubbed a hole in mine and I contacted them about replacing it, they offered to replace it at half price. That's not a free replacement lifetime warranty, they advertise free replacement, but don't count on it.

The 3M 5200 will reattach it permanently if you can rig up some cradles or jacks to get firm even pressure on the keel guard while it cures. Have the cradle ready to go before you start the job. Some boards and 2 or 3 jacks can be used. You trailer tongue jack can be used as jack. It's a messy job and almost impossible to remove or clean up after it sets. Use wax paper to mask off the hull, and use acetone for general clean up. Have a full can of acetone and plenty of rags standing by.

I recommend using the 3M 5200 Quick Cure, which sets up in 24 hours and can be used in 48 hours. The regular 5200 takes a full week to begin to cure. Buy the big tube used in a caulking gun, not the little squeeze tube.
