Last time I saw Twin Coves look like that was in '98.

I wonder if this will delay the Restaurant re-opening?

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Katie's Woods high water ramp is open!

I fished for a couple hours this morning - from the bank (lower after ramp, it was closed) using jig and bobber. Caught two yellow bass.

Noticed boats that were putting in we're having trouble getting off their trailers. Got to back deeper in water than normal.

Yellow bass? Grapevine? Hmmm.. I've fished that lake since the late 60's and I don't think I've ever caught a yellow bass there. We did catch a few walleyes there beack when TPWD stocked those and some good hybrids for several years when those were stocked too. Just haven't seen any yellow bass come out of there.

They are starting too...but more is coming in than they are letting out. Back in 2007 it was a month before they released anything.

Grapevine can hold another 8 to 10 ft. They probably won't let any water out until Raybob and Lewisville are back to normal. Releasing from GV will most likely cause more flooding down stream. City of Grapevine could care less about whether the lake is open. As mater of fact they had just as soon not have the crowds to deal with. Doesn't hurt their economy any since they collect millions in taxes off of the airport. It is what it is.

Once upon a time many years ago when the lake was going over the spillway and I lived in GV, I set a trotline across Meadowmere Lane road and tied the ends to the guard rails. Might have to do that again. Catfish were biting good that year. Water was backed up across Kimball right there at the cutoff.

They're releasing water now from GV. Only 700 CFS or so.
