Been working on trying to get some more speed out of the boat. 66 is the fastest I have gotten it and that was at 5300 rpm. Can't seem to get the rpm to 5800. That's me with my gear and 3/4 of gas. With a partner and a tourney load it runs 62.3 but takes forever to plane out. Was running a 25 tempest at 3" below pad. Hardly any rooster tail. Peop guy told me to go to a 4 blade trophy for lift reasons. Did that and with a full load and a partner it was 62.8 at 5400 rpm. Still can't get he to 5800 rpm. Boat doesn't walk or anything. Straight easy ride, just can't push max rpm and can't get to the 79's that it should run.
I can can answer any question you guys have. Please let me know what yall think. Thanks.

I would get with Steve at Steves custom props but my Triton liked to be ran with the motor at 2.5- 2.25

Make sure your getting full wide open throttle. Cables stretch and will need adjusting. I would also get a motor tune up and check. Then check your prop to pad and compare with others. BBC has a triton forum that could help you.

Boat was just in the shop back in December. Had a new alternator, starter, and lower unit put on. Motor checked out fine and all was good then.

2.5" Below Pad. 26P Fury or Tempest.
If it won't turn but 5300 RPM with 25P prop then something is wrong. It either isn't getting full throttle or it has an ignition or fuel delivery issue. A TR22 with a 225 and a 25P prop isn't going to run but 68-70 mph range with that prop and a full load.

I had a tr19 a few years ago, obviously not the same boat but similar hull anyhoo. Had a tempest and trophy but it liked a fury the best. Ran it 2.25 prop to pad. What really woke it up was adding 2 inch spacers for a total of 8 inches setback. Noticeable lift improvement. 74.9 on gps was fastest I saw, couldn't hit the 75 mark.
Like previously mentioned, read on the bbc triton forum and ask on there. You'll find an answer. Sounds like you might have a problem.

Steve's said try a 12" jackplate with a 23 pitch tempest. Should lift and push it.

Steve's said try a 12" jackplate with a 23 pitch tempest. Should lift and push it. 23P tempest is not going to work. I have a Triton TR21. What I stated above is what 99.9% of them respond to. You won't run mid 70's with a 23P Prop. I can run mid 70's fully loaded with the livewells full.

I'm not trying to push it mid 70's. I understand it is a big boat and only has a 225. I'm just trying to get the boat to run its max. If max is 66 then that's what I want. I'm gonna raise the motor another 1/2" and see how that does. Then I will continue to work with the prop to get max performance. If that means going to a bigger plate then so be it.

The distance between the centerline of the prop and the bottom of the boats pad.
Fast lane, what do you think about a "a40 tempest 25p". I sold my 25p tempest plus to a guy for a good price and he has a a40 that came off his 203 champ w/ a 225 merc. I hear they can sling blades but almost can't pass up the deal he is giving it to me for. Never been worked and is in great condition. May try that with my moor at 2.5" and see what it turns.
Also am gonna buy a 10-12" jackplate to put on it as well (next step). Again, not looking for high 70's, just want max performance.

That TR22 boat will run in the lower 70's fully loaded with a 225. 26p Fury or Tempest Plus. Fury will be a little faster. 2.5" below the pad. I have tested every prop combo known to man on mine and a friends boat...lol. I also had some help from Randy Howell with mine. What I just told you will get you within a 1 to 1.5 mph of the fastest it will ever run and just saved you a bunch of time and money.

4 blade prop is easier to drive but will slow it down. A 26P and 27P Trophy was a couple mph slower than a Tempest Plus 25P on mine when I was testing props.
26P Tempest Plus or a 26P Fury is what you need on your 225.
