With many of the area lakes over full pool, some of them up 7 feet within a week, I took a look at the rainfall map on the NWS site. I figured up the volume of rain that fell in the past week and the figure is quite staggering. In the states of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, where the heaviest of the rain was recorded, a rough average of 3 inches fell over the entire area of these three states. This was done by spreading the rainfall totals evenly over the areas that received little to no rainfall.
There is about a 15% margin of error but the figure was approximately 62.5 million acre feet over the three-state area. To put that in perspective. That is enough to fill up Toledo Bend from empty to full 13 times over or enough to put the entire city of Dallas (given that it were an impermeable fishbowl) beneath 250 feet of water! That is a tremendous amount of water and it isn't finished yet.
Another interesting perspective is that is roughly 20 trillion gallons of water. If it takes one minute to fill up a gallon milk jug, it would take you 38 million years to equal the amount of rain that fell on those three states in the past week. Makes you feel pretty small.
Should be plenty of flooded habitat for all of the bass fry to survive in and even more importantly, plenty of water to irrigate with.

Nice ! Thanks for that. I was told by my Pop that Ray Hubbard alone collected 103 billion Gallons of water.
