Well we have hoped and prayed for some water and boy we got. I always love the challenge of finding what
the new condition will require for us to catch fish. Last year the fish spawned on the humps and left
to not return until the spawn this year. Last year after the shad spawn the only place sand bass could be
found was at the inlet. These were very smallish fish. Yet you could fish the lighted docks at night and
catch nice fish. Where were they during the day?
We are a little over three feet low and most likely enough water in the system to fill Eagle Mountain.
The only thing I know is the lake will be fouled up for a couple of weeks. But I will enjoy trying to
figuring it out.
Lets hear some thoughts on what you think will happen.
Johnny

The shad are spawning. This should tell us where the fish are.
I bet in a week or so things start acting right.
We have a lot more water for this summer than last.
I have a solid PMA!
I think it's going to be a good summer!

The same thing has happened on many lakes around the area that have been really low. Personally, I believe the main lake spawns are not highly productive. I think we are now seeing the cumulative effect of a half decade of bad spawns. Fish numbers are lower therefore it makes the summer and fall fishing way harder when they spread out. Good news is most lakes had a great spawn this year. Nature can recover quick.

Seems to be a whole lot of bait on the lake. Wonder if average size will increase. Early 90s used to be a larger average size of sandies. Every lake has their own attitude when it comes to these major changes. eagle mt. Is a whole new lake again! Excited

Capt . if the amount of bait was the problem with the size of sand bass we would have
huge sand bass. Eagle mountain has always had a tremendous amount of bait compared to other lakes.
I think the problem is bad spawns but who knows.
