The way I understand it, is the addition of electrolytes the product. The U2 acts like a stimulant. It was explained to me this way. Picture a lineman in the NFL recovering a fumble and running 40yrds. The first thing they give him on the sideline is Oxygen "Oxygenator". The next thing he is given is not water but gatorade "electrolytes" PS.. I wasn't sponsored or given any sort of deal for the treatment we used. We used what we found to be the best.

I take old Powerade bottles and fill them with tap water and catch and release. I freeze them and throw 5-6 of them in a soft sided cooler when I got out. I'll take the top off and put them in the livewell. They melt slowly and have the catch and release treatment in them already.

electrolytes is a fancy name for salt. it helps the slimecoat to regenerate. the fish don't drink it.

I do not have an oxygenator in my boat. We did run them in the live release tank.

This is what I have. Nothing better. The only hard part these days is to get the bottle filled.

electrolytes is a fancy name for salt. it helps the slimecoat to regenerate. the fish don't drink it. You don't believe any absorption through the gills takes place. There is something chemically taking place. The fish are noticeabbly more active after U2 is introduced.

im sure they do and I know why, but that's not what the goal is. you want them calm and relaxed.

to each his own. I prefer releasing a fish that is fired up vs a coma.

Ive been doing livewell release research for over 30 years now. Nine years with Jungle Labs and 24 years here with my company, SURE-LIFE LABORATORIES. For almost 30 of those years, one of my best friends in the world, the late Doug Hannon, was there right along side me. We did our work with science in mind and what we found was the best for the contained and soon to be released bass. Thus, the formulations of the livewell formulas I produce and market worldwide along with the methods of handling and treating the livewells in the SURE-LIFE videos are available.Furthermore, SURE-LIFE LABORATORIES formulas are the only ones which have been studied by independent and unsolicited sources. Furthermore, SURE-LIFE LABORATORIES owns patents on our formulations.
With this being spoken, I feel I speak with knowledge on this subject.
Back when the device called the Oxygenator was released and I met them at ICAST in Las Vegas, they wanted me to private label for them. I sent them products and they did the testing on compatibility. They contacted me back and said everything is compatible. Then as time passed, they cam out with this ruse, that the two products were not compatible as chlorine was developed when the two products were used jointly. That is possible, since they are generating ozone instead of oxygen with their device and unstable ozone reacts with salt to produce chlorine. That's why you cannot use their product in saltwater.
However, what they fail to tell you, is that ALL SURE-LIFE PRODUCTS REMOVE HARMFUL CHLORINE INSTANTLY(I get so damn tired of answering this question just because a company won;t be honest in their advertising because they are attemting to push their own agenda) in the water regardless of the source. Why don't they tell you this? Because they using this ruse to sell you their U-2 formula over a proven SURE-LIFE LABORATORIES product.
Now, I want you to consider something. Their liquid formula does not contain a much needed calming agent in their product. If you think better, and believe there is one in there as claims are made, then let me know the active ingredient. Trust me, there isn't one in there. The blue coloring is for show only to mimic the colors of SURE-LIFE formulations in the water. Whereas, the entire formulations of SURE-LIFE LABORATORIES formulations are 100% active in the water. Our formulations are 100% dissolving and do not clog up aerators. If this was true, that Bass Champs and the numerous other tournament trails SURE-LIFE LABORATORIES sponsors nationwide including untold of bass boat owners would have brought this issue up decades ago. This a totally false statement.
No, this issue is being propagated by a U-2 promoter with an agenda. I dare say to anyone with an interest, to place an oxygen meter in a livewell containing a decent limit of bass as I have done many times, with the oxygenator on and off and see if you see a difference in oxygen levels between it or your standard aerators which have been in use since the 80's. There is no difference, becasue 90% transfer of oxygen to water occurs at the surface of the water. That's why you should leave your earators running all day. This keeps the system rotating and helps continuing to pick up oxygen. Rotate the water, add hydrogen peroxide as explained in SURE-LIFE videos on line, use PLEASE RELEASE ME and/or CATCH & RELEASE (difference explained in videos on line by SURE-LIFE LABORATORIES), keep the water cool and use FOAM-OFF to remove surface foam which hinders oxygen transfer.
Avoid others who use false statements about their products, use less than 100% active products, hype the fish up for pure promotional ruse in advertisement to dupe the customer to believing in a situation which is not conducive for a healthy bass filled livewell.
Hope ya'll are having a great Mother;s Day!

Tony, if using one additive, which would you use? I have the Guardian system and have been running Please Release Me exclusively. I premix and fill reservoir and use as needed. I have lost very few fish even in the heat of Texas summers and only extremely bleeding fish. I try to take the best care of the fish I catch.
