Thinking about hitting one of the smaller pond/lakes here in South-West part of Fort Worth tomorrow morning considering the weather will be iffy. Just wondering if anyone has tried Greenbriar Park(3 acres), Como Lake(15 acres), or Echo Lake(17 acres) for LMB or crappie. I know they are small, so I might just bank fish them. Greenbriar has been stocked with LMB the past few years in a row.
Also, any info on the neighborhood qualities would be appreciated too.

I've only fished Echo of the lakes listed. It's not in the greatest neighborhoods and there is usually some odd activity in the parking lot on the west side, but nothing has ever happened to my truck and I've never felt worried, just more aware. I've only fished it in my yak once but I've fished from the bank several times. Not sure about the others.
People have caught some nice bass out of Echo. I've caught numbers some days, been blanked others and never caught any hawgs, but I've caught many 2-3.5 pounders. The south end is deeper and there are cattails in the summer. Haven't been out there since last fall, so I'm not sure if they're in yet or not. Chartreuse and white spinnerbaits have worked best. Caught some on rattle traps and some on ribbit frogs.
I'd say it's worth a shot. There are snakes there, just like anywhere, though, and the water can be gross. Not that you would, but there is a consumption ban there, even though you will probably see some locals fishing for food there.

I am speaking only from what I've heard or read, but historically, the Como neighborhood can be rough. Haven't been to the park or even around the area much for years so it may be perfectly fine. Presumably, with some economic boom on the west side and investment in infrastructure, the neighborhood has been making some strides.

Think I might just go bank fish Greenbriar lake. It's very small, but has been stocked with fingerling bass the last 3 years. Hope to get into a dinkfest!

That's the spirit! I didn't move from the couch except to buy some lunch and cook some dinner.
