Sorry to say I haven't found a "shad hole" Mike--
Truth is they move around though out the day or night--
I would say that if from the bank you need to hit boat ramps or sandy areas that seen to warn up faster and have growth that seem to attract shad-
EARLY or late has been best for me---
From a boat if you have decent electronics learn them and trust them, if you have boat but are still going old school, Use the boat to find the spots mentioned from the bank, you just can cover more ground quicker, under bridges is good sometimes also-
Hope this helps--
Anybody else please jump in with what has worked for you-

I have a boat, and have good electronics. Normally I don't have much trouble finding them there, but last weekend kicked my butt, just not in the normal spots I check.

Understood--it happens to me sometimes also--guess I wasn't too much help to your question, maybe somebody else may chime in-

I've caught a bunch in front of the boat slips where the old fishing barge was and in the cove where the golf corse is. I have also caught a lot in that big cove where the new boat ramp is at the park.

I always have a supply of different baits for when I don't get shad. My selection has liver, chicken breast, shrimp and some whole frozen perch. It has saved the day more than once.

Thanks, I had great luck catching shad today, all at 751. Couldn't catch any there last week. Thanks again
