I like the hooks better on the ones that Carlos Rivera does.
River A Tackle. Check them out.

My initial impression is, lots of extra hardware and extra knots to tie, extra points of failure. I think the effectiveness of the drop shot is supposed to lie in the stealthy minimalism of line, hook, sinker. I would imagine the additional terminal tackle would hinder the subtle action of a finesse bait. But who knows? It might be as effective or even moreso than the traditional setup. I'm certainly no expert on the subject, just a guy who reads a lot and tries to fish when I can.

I fish a lot of drop shot and will stick to just using line. Yeah you get line twist but it isn't that bad, for me anyways, I retie after a few decent fish if im worried about it

Looks like you only need one knot. The bottom of it has the little pincher just like weight. I tried a rig similar once and the only thing that bothered me was the way the hook sags slightly and doesn't come straight out.

I don't like having all the extra swivels because they are unnecessary. Also, you have to nose hook which is a disadvantage. I used to nose hook but now I texas rig every time and haven't looked back. The round weights are good for feeling the bottom, the rod shaped ones are good for not getting snagged. Its good to have both.

I see only one 'knot'. I like it for variable leader length when dialing in bass. I don't like all the metal interfering with the benefit of light lane not affecting natural movement of the plastic.

I use Carlos' rigs and they are very affective........ No line twist and I Texas rig the bait so I can fish it anywhere......I prefer tungsten skinny weights

I have tried them. The hook completely broke in half on maybe a 4 lber. Cheaply built is what I chalked it up to.
