Any suggestions for some freshwater fishing near Alvin ?
Got money?
Plenty of really good private fishing holes in Brazoria County. Some cost more than others, most are fairly decent places to consistently catch fish.
I got one of those places near Danbury, not far from Alvin. Its full with a waiting list, but I do get some turnover in the course of the year.
You also got Beiri's, Seven Lakes in Damon, and likely several others.
For no money, I've had lots of fun fishing the local creeks and ditches for sunfish and small bass. Also there are some good places to fish for carp, tilapia and gar around.
North of Alvin is a county park with a public fishing pond.
The bayous, especially upper Chocolate can be good places for freshwater fish when it hasn't rained for among time and the water gets clear.
Now start getting closer to the bay and you got all kinds of great saltwater fishing too.
I pretty much got my son-in-law convinced to move here (Houston area) with my daughter just because he likes to fish so much and there is a ton of places to actually catch fish around here (unlike the mess-o-plex).
