Fishing the texas coast requires fishing in the wind unless you only want to fish a few weekends a year, but at what point do you call it off and not go because of the winds? I fish out of a 20' bay boat and get around pretty well in up to 17-19mph winds. It costs money to go since its a few hour trip down there for me. There's only certain weekends I can get away so when the winds are rough I still go but regret it and think I should have just stayed home. Curious of other's thoughts on this....

The trend is your friend.

Don't just look at the current wind and seas.

Look at the history and see which way it is trending

No matter which way or how strong the wind is, there are places to catch fish here in the coastal bend if you don't mind getting your feet wet.

With limit of trout being 5, you can catch a limit of trout just as easy wade fishing as you can with a boat.

... and sometimes a few reds or flounder to go with those trout.

the wind is your friend as long as it is not ridiculous,it helps you drift fast and cover more water,at least in the lower laguna-just try to use it to your advantage setting up drifts using popping corks!
