was wondering if there was a way to clean dirty feathers on the back hooks of a yellow magic or a pop r? Hooks are sharp but feathers are not too white.

Never noticed a difference I don't want any odd smells so I wouldn't use anything but water and maybe baking soda Factory Replacement hooks are cheap if it's that bad

bleach may break down the feathers, i'd try baking soda and water/ maybe a little vinegar, or maybe a baking soda toothpaste and a brush.

I use the same stuff they clean the oil off the birds when they get into a spill.
Warm water and Dawn.

Try hydrogen peroxide. I've heard that people use it to turn their hair white.

My whites get a little off color but I have never noticed a drop in strikes because of it. Heck usually my feathers only last a couple of trips anyway before they get tore up and need to be switched anyway. I bet I am on my 5 set of hooks on my current #1 popper and the condition of the whole bait shows it too. LOL! I aint retiring it till it falls apart or starts leaking though.
