I have always just been a guy that enjoyed fishing. Never put much thought into it. Just grabbed a rod and reel and headed out. Nerver caught a ton of fish per trip either...so maybe the two go hand in hand

Anyhow, how do you fish new water? For instance, Mineral Wells state park was 50% full 2 weeks ago. Now it is running over the spillway. there is vegetation everywhere and the water is muddy. Do you just go back to the places that were good before or do you adjust? Will be fishing for crappie BTW.

cork and a minnow, fish shallow along vegetation, we did that at Lake fork and caught some whoppers.
fish will be scattered, but the crappie may be spawning in the new waters..enjoy

Find the clearest water in the new flooded veggies,bass will be feeding
on bugs babyfish just hatched,worms,frogs etc.

Get out there before grass dies out is for sure the best bet. Many people say wait a few days-weeks for fish to adjust. When drowned bugs, mice, etc flow into this new water, they wont wait. I have caught fish on a lake that went up 14 feet in three days, fished it the day after it filled up, and caught some nice ones right in the flooded grass. Fish dont wait cause by then the bugs and stuff will be gone, and so I always say neither should us fisherman.
