I met a lot of fisherman in my 51 years of life. And I have known some fisherman that from time to time stretch the truth on the size or the amount of fish they caught on a trip.
Well, I know one that does not stretch the truth at all, if he tells you he caught a 10lb bass, then he caught a 10lb bass. If he tells you he caught 50 hybrids or 150 sand bass, that is exactly what happened. No photos needed, mark it down, it happened.
And when this same fisherman tells you "hey I know a lake that has a spot that can be good fishing from time to time, well if you like to catch fish you go there. And when he cautions you that although the fishing can be good, you will have to make an approximate mile walk to reach it, you just hope this is possibly the one time he is stretching the truth a little.
That was not the case Jerry, if anything he underestimated how far I would have to walk. I got on that trail and I walked and I walked, I began to think I was on some kind of snipe hunt until I finally found the area just as he described. The fish were not biting good, I caught one small drum and one sand bass. But yes Jerry, I can see how that would be a great spot in particular in the time of day as you stated.
But that walk, if I had taken my cell phone with me I may have been tempted to call Care Flight to come get me. I am pretty sure I was close to having a medical emergency on the way back to the truck. When I finally got close to the truck it felt like I should be breaking through some yellow tape for finishing that journey.
And I think I touched every bush, weed, shrub, or tree along that trail. I am going to be looking for ticks for the next 3 days. Still, you got to admire a man who does not stretch the truth at all, one mile my rear end.

I went thru something similar about a spot below the Bardwell Dam.I was told it was a great spot when they are releasing h2o and that how short the walk was to get there.Anyone that knows me well would tell you Fishbonz shouldn`t try to go back there with one knee replaced & the other just hanging on by a thread, but I tried it anyway. It was such a long hike to get back there that for a minute I thought I looked up saw vultures circling overhead.BTW I just got back
