Do you ever set lines when the water is low? Again, im talking about a small bayou...

Here are two pictures of it when the water is up, just a little below the tops of the bank. The second picture is a highway bridge's pilings. How would you set the bridge, I would think bridges would be good

Anyone? Would you prefer to set lines across the current or with the current? I would think catfish would be behind the pilings for the current break, at least that's what I gather from reading.

There are no other fishermen on this water, so across the current isn't a problem.

The water went down enough for me to walk in the water on the sides of the channel where it was only 3-4 feet deep under the bridge.

It's definitely firm soil, gravel, and cypress roots. I'm fired up, because I keep reading about how catfish like gravel bottoms so much.

Sure would love to get a flathead!
