In the last year, the lake went from 0.9% full to almost 60% full as of yesterday. Any of you guys over that way been out there? Can you launch a boat? Are there bass to be caught in it? I noticed that TPWD stocked it back in 2004 and years preceding that, but I'm curious if it's worth a trip there to try it out.

I know he did a good job with "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head", but I can't believe the state of Texas named a lake after him.

I've never even seen the lake, much less fished it. You have to wonder how many fish survived if it was at less than 1% capacity. Maybe there were some in the deeper creeks. FWIW, the TPWD website rates largemouth fishing in the lake as "fair". If they say it, you know it has to be right. LOL.

A few people were catching very few catfish before the rains last year.

Prior to the rains, I wasn't aware of anyone catching anything out of that lake with scales since 2013.

I'm sure the waters brought in "some" fish with it last year, but now the fish have over 5,000 acres to roam instead of less than 500 acres.

I've talked to a few people that have fished it since the rain, and a single catfish and/or bluegill here and there is pretty much all I've heard was being caught.

Lake is actually just west of Snyder. It will take a few years for the lake to be fishable. Sure there are a few there but not enough to waste gas to catch. Grew up fishing the Mudhole. Can hardly wait to get back out and mark way points of structure I used to fish

Some honeys from 08

I wish that were the case but all of the big cities that have contracts to pull from Ivie will pull their maximum amount allowed every year and use their local water last. That is the west texas way in the water business.

CRMWD will sell every drop that they can. Just checked the Water Data, Thomas is now at 68% and 10' low. 9' rise so far this week.

Good info guys.

Even if there are not many fish to be caught, it still might be fun to just drive over and go around in the boat with the graph and see what shows up.

A guy in Big Spring told me he is catching a few at Thomas right now. Keep in mind this same guy told me there are 25 pound bass in the town lake in Big Spring (Comanche Trail), so take that with a grain of salt lol.
