Fished for the first time last weekend. Is the water level up or is it always that wide and muddy? Is it a decent spot for gator gar? Got one run no hook ups. Thanks

All the heavy rains we recieved last week in the watershed that flows into the Nueces mainly from the Atascosa river, has raised the level of Lake Corpus Christi to the present level of being only 3.75 feet under the pool level for the lake, and I'm sure it's still flowing into the lake so it may even reach full in a few days if it's still flowing in. It's full of gar but I'd be trying for catfish with the muddy water.
Just one more cast!
