Trying to figure out which lakes within 1.5 hours of the FW/weatherford area have good populations of flathead. Getting interested in a rod/reel hunt for a big one!

This one came from RH. I was going to release it but the hook hit a artery and it bleed out when the hook was removed. First time I've ever seen this happen.

82lbs. She would have weighed close to 90 had she not have just spawned, a 50lb op can have 8lbs of eggs. I hate that it died but RH has a lot of em that size, Blues on s end and ops on n end.

My uncle used to run trotlines near the power plant outlet at Ray Hubbard.

The size of some of those things when he brought them over the side was spooky.

This was in the late 70's - early 80's. Had his boat at Captains Cove. I caught countless numbers of bluegills to keep him loaded with fresh bait off that old C Dock.
