We made the mistake of trying to force the dock bite to get going. We just never could get the flooded brush to produce in practice. We caught one keeper and threw it back and went home. Geez. How was it for you guys?

Hadn't been there in a year or so , wasn't prepared for the water color. Went north early didn't stay long found a good spot south caught 2 out of it and should have stayed in that area left it a tried the bridge bite , big mistake bombed the rest of the day. Saw a bunch of good friends which made the trip worth it.

Two handful of cashews is the therapeutic equivalent of dose of prozac. I ate 10 handfuls yesterday afternoon and 12 so far today. Never had the fish on to win but had them on to maybe get a check pitching soft plastics in to the flooded grass and willows but just could not keep them hooked up. Tried three different kinds of hooks.
More cashews !!!!!

Might try switching to almonds or pistachios.

Flooded brush/grass bite has been very specific. If you not throwing what they want and where it's tough. Was on them good for a sold 3 weeks but bit changed and we didn't adjust well. Went looking for dock bite like allot of anglers and only had 2 keepers didn't bother to weigh in. Barry told me how he caught 16lbs and it made me mad because I should of tried it out.

during practice it was all about spinnerbaits and chatterbaits in the flooded brush on lunch time it was all about slow moving baits, senko, fluke, swim baits trigs etc...

Raymond and I finished up in 16th place and culled several times thru the day. I think we had about 13 keepers and another 6 or 7 shorts or just 14" fish that would not help. This was the first time we have been on Cedar Creek since the last Basschamps. I made a decision after what I saw on our first stop that was the game changer for us. Had one of those gut feelings while running down the lake when I saw an area and I told Raymond we need to try that it just feels right. We caught two 4 to 5 pound range fish and another keeper in short order and just ran with that pattern most of the day. We caught a fish pretty much everywhere we stopped just not near the quality as those two good fish early. In hindsight I think we should have switched up a bit to stay on around the bigger fish once the shad spawn was over.

We caught 6 keepers and 2 short fish. Tough for sure. We had just under 9 lbs. Fished clean did not lose any fish just did not get a quality bite! Bass Champs runs the best trail by far! Thanks guys!

Got a late start (boat 200), so thought our starting spot would have people all over it. Well, we had some company, but we worked together pretty well. Started with loosing a nice 3lber at the boat...

I am sure you can read between the lines with my other post. I lost another good one at the boat that could've helped us. Lost another one that would have kept, but wasn't anything to write home about. Had several short strikes as well, all on Chatterbaits. Partner lost one that was like my first lost fish (3lb). Those two fish alone (an extra 4lbs - we had two SMALL keepers at the end of the day) would've put us in the money. Who knows about the ones we didn't see. Caught all but one of our keepers on my partner's spinnerbait. Bite was ok, a lot of short fish like everyone else. Because we never lost too much momentum, we never really changed tactics that drastically. Just kept thinking if we got through the small ones, we knew thee were bigger ones with them. Just couldn't get those key bites or execute cleanly enough for money. Finished in the top third with just under 9 lbs.

I got to watch my partner get'em all day. We also didn't pre-fish and just went to an area we liked and managed to weigh in 12.75 for a little check. I caught 1 freaking fish all day (was one of our keepers thankfully) but watched my partner catch 12-13 fish. Somehow I still got half the check so not all that bad.
