What are the crappie doing on Texoma. We went Saturday and only managed one off a brushpile in 15 foot. I'm guessing they are scattered in the miles of flooded cover around the bank.

Nobody else fishing or is there a tournament that's got everyone quiet?

Hit Texoma yesterday and got the old skunk. First time that happened in a long while. Did catch a few sandbass but crappie were nowhere to be found. Tried all the flooded weeds along shore in my usual coves. Tried 5 ft brush, 10 ft brush and even deeper with no luck. I Minnows or jigs didn't matter. Found water from 65-72. Mudline was from about Cedar Mills south. Couldn't find much baitfish. A man in big mineral marina said to try night time. Who knows. It's a whole new lake when it's full.

We have good friends who live in Gordenville close to a marina , and they fish a lot. He was just telling me the same thing. The crappie this year are no where to be found ???

Maybe try where the new water ends. Back up in the newly flooded brush, stumps and logs. Found some a couple days ago in a area that's been dry ground for 2 years.

They are hard to come by. Last April they were easy to catch and at this time I was coming home with a full cooler of Striper and Crappie. This year has been different. Crappie have been few and the high water has the bigger stripers spawning up river.

I think the crappie fishing at Texoma will be a late may thing at Texoma. There's just too much water right now and the change has everything upset.

You need to have a lot of way points on your GPS. Say around 200. And be willing to burn gas. They're where they normally hang out right now, 7-12', they've just got lock jaw for some reason in most spots. Went to the lease at the end of last week but managed to get back in time to check texoma out for awhile. I mainly wanted to see the lake at normal level for the first time in a long time and to see if the channels were spawning yet. Marked fish just about everywhere I went and caught a few. Best spots were stained water, not muddy. Fished some clear water but I knew it wouldn't produce. And it didn't.

Lane, how many of your old waypoints are no longer there with the lake being so low for a while? I'm hoping to get up there in June and do some brush sinking for the tourney in July.

Only a few. The biggest and most disappointing one is the one off Sandy point in Hagerman that Cody showed me years ago. It was big and bois d'arc. Somebody had to have drug that thing off somewhere with a tractor.

Wow, that stinks! I can't wait to get up there and see the lake full. Like you said, it's been a long time. 3 years or so.

Noticed that one was missing. Actually several were Mia. Most of my deep piles were all there. I've only got about 175 piles marked and probably put out about 40 of those.

That one was gone last time I was up there which has been over a year. I agree someone with a tractor drug that one off. Last year I saw several that were burned.
