Gizzard shad version 1.0
Can't see it in the picture but the colors are pearls and should look good in direct sunlight. A little pinkish on the nose and under the tail...purple shade around the upper back...black across the eyes and upper gills...silver sides with a brown/copper back and just a hint of gold along the centerline...added a little scale tipping for good measure. Suggestions and ideas on making a better Gizzard shad are appreciated. texas

Yep...a gizzard shad has several horizontal lines of darker scales along its upper back. Lure blanks sometimes have textured scales on them....if they do and the scale pattern is realistic you can use a detail brush to make a color strike on one edge of the scales and make a pattern of darker or lighter scales. I got in a hurry on Gizzard 1.0 and they ended up being dots rather than dark edges. Hope to do better on Gizzard 2.0

Looks more like iridescent green over the back shaded with black. I think the yellow shade is just the overspray from the green.

Those are NOT mine, a guy off BBC painted them. If anyone figures it out let me know.
