I have a 200 Mariner motor and damaged my lower end unit and now needs to be replaced. I have a lower end unit that came off of my old boat that was a 175 Mercury. Everything with this old lower end unit looks the same as my other lower end, I mean exactly the same. I'm planning on changing the impeller and lower end grease on the old lower end unit, so my question is will it work on the 200 Mariner?

My 200 is a 98 model, and the 175 is a 93 model. On a side note: I hooked it up with no problem. took it out and ran it with a 23 pitch 4 blade Trophy prop and the hole shot was awesome, but only got up to 58 mph. My prop I normally use is a 24 pitch Fury and the hole shot isn't as good but can get up to 69 mph. Unfortunately it is unavailable to use right now, it is getting repaired.

ya need ta run it with tha fury ta get a good comparison.. that's your "base line".. I wouldn't think there would be that much difference but trophy's are all over tha place outta tha box as are most stock props...what about wfo rpm with each? possible 2 ta 1....
