Well I'm a bass guy and probably won't change lol. Back in August I caught a gar in the brazos river while fishing with my cousins. Caught a couple others in the past. The fight is great and as y'all probably know it's an overall fun fish to catch. Saw a few in the shallows a couple weeks ago and it got me thinking again. I would guess most of the gar I see are spotted or long nose gar. How do I catch these? Are there any lures that consistently work well? I'm not too good with sitting and waiting with live bait. Also after they move out of the shallows how do you locate them? Thanks!

Yep I can't believe some consider them trash fish. I know for a fact all the ones I see swimming around the lakes I bass fish in aren't getting any pressure.

Make up a rope lure for Long Nose Gar....just a frayed piece of rope. Plenty of youtube videos on it.
My personal best is still swimming out there just getting bigger. One of these days I will quit feeding it.
