I do the 56 hr tuna trips on Scat Cat out of Port Aransas every year. The cost is $750 per angler. You bring your own gear, food and drinks. Boat can hold up to 24 anglers with bunk beds to sleep in if you want to sleep. They have awesome deck hands to help you land fish and captains that can put you on fish.
Your class rod should be enough. Im not familiar with a penn spinfisher so I dont know how that will handle a big tuna. Im a shimano guy. All my reels are stradics, saragosas, sustains and stellas. 300 yards of 80lb braid is plenty with 80lb flourocarbon leader. I have a jigging setup and popping setup. The jigs I use are in the 250-400 grams in weight depending on current. You can also chunk with cut bait if you have a rod and reel setup for that. Google "g man intro to jigging" and "g man intro to popping". I would post the link up but my work computer is not allowing me to go to that site for some reason. He explains very well in those 2 post on what you need to catch some tuna.
My personal best yellow fin tuna pictured below is 120 lb caught on the scat cat jigging a 9 oz pink torpedo jig from 300 feet.
